Full job description

CareForce Australia an NDIS staffing agency that supplies disability support workers across Australia. According to their site, they provide same-day staffing, SIL support, overnight care, and high-intensity support workers.

A Disability Support Worker helps people with physical, intellectual, psychosocial, or developmental disabilities live more independently and safely.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assisting with personal care (showering, dressing, grooming)

Helping with meal preparation and household tasks

Supporting clients to attend appointments or community activities

Providing emotional and social support

Assisting with mobility and transfers

Medication reminders or assistance

Writing daily progress notes and incident reports

Supporting behaviour management plans

Helping clients achieve NDIS goals

Disability Support Workers may work in:

Client homes

SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes

Community programs

Day centres

Residential care facilities

Skills needed

Compassion and patience

Good communication

Manual handling skills

Behaviour support experience

Requirements for Disability Support Workers

NDIS Worker Screening Check

First Aid & CPR certificate

Police Check

Driver licence

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (preferred)

Pay: $5,500.00 – $7,000.00 per month
