About Laundry Project

Laundry Project is a growing Melbourne-based commercial laundry and garment care business operating from our facility in South Melbourne.

We work with clients across hospitality, fashion, retail, health, education and corporate industries, providing professional laundry and premium garment care services.

As our business continues to expand, we're looking for a reliable, organised and professional Delivery Driver & Laundry Operations Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position combining scheduled laundry collections and deliveries with packing, dispatch preparation and general operational support.

You'll report directly to our Logistics & Operations Manager, who oversees our daily delivery operations, route planning and dispatch coordination.

Working closely with our Logistics & Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for managing assigned delivery routes across Melbourne, ensuring client orders are collected and delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.

This is an important customer-facing role, and we're looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, communicates professionally and can work independently.

When not on the road, you'll assist our production team with packing, labelling and preparing laundry orders for dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

Collection & Delivery

• Manage assigned daily collection and delivery routes across Melbourne
• Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries for commercial and residential clients
• Follow efficient delivery routes and meet collection and delivery schedules
• Load and unload laundry bags, garments and linen safely
• Ensure all orders are collected and delivered accurately
• Communicate professionally and courteously with clients
• Follow client-specific collection instructions and building access procedures
• Maintain accurate collection and delivery records using our booking system
• Communicate delays, issues or changes to the Logistics & Operations Manager
• Keep the company vehicle clean, organised and presentable
• Complete basic vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues

Laundry Packing & Operations

• Check orders against delivery schedules to ensure accuracy
• Assist with organising incoming and outgoing laundry
• Maintain a tidy and organised packing and dispatch area
• Work closely with the Logistics & Operations Manager to ensure daily dispatch requirements are met

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a valid Australian driver's licence with a good driving record
• Is confident driving around Melbourne, including the CBD and surrounding suburbs
• Has previous experience in delivery driving, courier services or logistics (preferred)
• Is reliable, punctual and well organised
• Has a neat, professional and presentable appearance
• Is friendly, polite and confident interacting with clients
• Can work independently and manage a busy delivery schedule
• Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Is physically capable of safely lifting and moving laundry bags
• Is comfortable using a smartphone, GPS navigation and delivery applications
• Is flexible and willing to assist with packing and general laundry operations
• Can follow instructions and communicate effectively with their manager
• Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team

Previous experience in commercial laundry, hospitality deliveries or multi-drop courier services will be highly regarded.

Pay Rate: From $33.50 per hour + superannuation, subject to applicable award entitlements and experience
Vehicle: Company vehicle provided for work duties
Hours: Daytime shifts, with regular hours and the potential for additional shifts as the business grows
Reports To: Logistics & Operations Manager
Start: Immediate
Trial: Paid trial shift for shortlisted candidates
