We are onboarding casual APS 2 Service Delivery Officers - applications close 5:00pm AEDT Monday 26 October 2026

Expected commencement late February or early March 2027

A Service Delivery Officer is responsible for responding to client and tax agent enquiries. They provide guidance and education, helping clients and tax agents to meet their taxation and superannuation obligations. The Service Delivery Officer role emphasises delivering exceptional service delivery across multiple channels. Service Delivery Officers may also mentor less experienced staff.

In this role, you will work in a scheduled contact centre environment, providing high-quality service to clients between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will predominately interact with clients over the phone. You’ll also process account activities received through other channels, including phone, paper, webchat, email and online portals.

Should you be successful; you will need to be available for the entire training and consolidation period and complete the training program in the office. This will be 5 hours per day, 5 days per week for the first 8 weeks.

Roles are available in our Albury (NSW), Adelaide (SA), Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane (QLD), Burnie (TAS), Canberra (ACT), Dandenong (VIC), Gosford (NSW), Hobart (TAS), Melbourne (VIC), Moonee Ponds (VIC), Parramatta (NSW), Penrith (NSW), Perth (WA), Upper Mount Gravatt (QLD) or Wollongong (NSW) offices.

In Frontline Operations, you will help us manage client accounts, resolve client enquiries and process forms that help the Tax and Superannuation system work. This might involve a variety of channels including phones, web chat and processing in our systems.

Frontline Operations supports the community by helping clients navigate the tax and superannuation system. We assist with enquiries and resolve issues through our digital channels. You will be part of a dedicated team contributing to the important work we do here at the ATO - helping Australians access the services and support they need.

What we offer

Most casual roles sit within Frontline Operations and range from APS 1 to APS 3 levels. We offer a flexible environment with a variety of shift times.

As an example as an APS 2 casual employee, you can be paid from $43.21 per hour (plus 15.4% superannuation) for the hours you work.

Candidates who are not current ongoing employees of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) will need to complete a pre-engagement integrity check.
