We’re partnering with a well-established digital commerce agency to find a Senior Product Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll lead technical delivery across high-quality eCommerce builds, mentor junior engineers, and help shape best-practice frontend and Shopify solutions. You’ll work closely with design, QA, and delivery teams to bring scalable, performance-led experiences to life.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading technical execution across Shopify projects, from architecture through to delivery

  • Writing clean, scalable, well-documented code

  • Contributing to technical specs, documentation, and internal standards

  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical growth

  • Running and participating in code reviews to maintain quality

  • Collaborating closely with design, QA, and project teams

  • Communicating progress clearly with internal stakeholders

  • Managing time effectively, with a target of ~34 billable hours per week

  • Staying across emerging tools, trends, and best practices in eCommerce

  • Championing accessibility, performance, and usability across all work

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years hands-on experience building on Shopify

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

  • Solid experience with Git/GitHub workflows

  • Comfortable working with the command line and common CLI tools

  • Confident using tools like Figma, FigJam, and Notion

  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimisation, and accessibility best practices

  • Experience mentoring junior developers

  • Background in an agency or fast-paced digital environment is a plus

  • Ability to work with partial or full overlap with Sydney business hours
