Manager, Manufacturing and Construction
- Salary: $142,790 - $191,084 (plus superannuation)
- Work Type: Fixed term to 30 October 2029
- Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition St, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Manager, Manufacturing and Construction is responsible for working across government and engaging with key external partners and stakeholders to drive industry development, policy and strategies that strengthen Victorian industry. The role leads the delivery of policy settings and programs to grow and develop industry in Victoria, including stakeholder engagement across industry, academia and government. You will develop policy, programs and strategies to address industry needs, leverage opportunities and provide high-level project and contract management across key industry programs, while providing strategic advice on industrial sectors.
Main Accountabilities
- Manage, develop and implement policy and pursue strategic opportunities for industry across DJSIR, government and industry.
- Manage projects and contracts and take responsibility for programs and initiatives across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present high-quality complex reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers.
- Provide advice to senior executives on industry intelligence, opportunities and risks.
- Engage with key stakeholders including industry, business, community stakeholders and State and Commonwealth Government agencies, and lead collaborative networks and partnerships.
The Team
The position of Manager, Manufacturing and Construction forms a part of the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment Group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch develops policies and delivers programs that drive sustainable economic growth and workforce inclusion, supporting strategic industry sectors and creating opportunities for Victorian businesses and workers.
About You
You will have proven experience and extensive knowledge of industry policy, with the ability to drive industry growth and development. You will have excellent experience building and maintaining strategic relationships and networks, with the ability to negotiate, influence and gain consensus at senior levels across the private and public sectors. You will also bring high-level experience managing complex, outcome-focused projects, industry initiatives and programs that contribute to industry growth and development.
