Full job description
Location: Ceduna, South Australia.
Status: Full Time Contract working 38 hours per week until 30 June 2027 with possibility of extension
Annual Salary: from $80,008 to $85,797 per annum based on full time
About the Position
The Support Worker is to assist and support the Case Manager to deliver safe, coordinated, and client-centred services to women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DVF), contributing to case management, safety and service integration outcomes.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide trauma-informed, client-centred support to women and children affected by domestic and family violence (DFV).
- Deliver practical assistance, advocacy, referrals, transport, and service coordination to help clients access community and support services.
- Support Case Managers with client intake, assessments, case plans, safety planning, and achieving client goals.
- Monitor client wellbeing, risks, and progress, reporting concerns and recommendations to the Case Manager.
- Conduct home safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency accommodation assessments in line with program requirements.
- Assist clients to develop independent living skills, maintain tenancies, manage households, and achieve long-term stability.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records, case notes, reports, and database entries while complying with organisational, legislative, and WHS requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, participate in team activities and professional development, and apply culturally safe, strengths-based practices to support positive client outcomes.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in providing support services to individuals and families.
- Knowledge of issues affecting the Aboriginal community which threatens and impacts on family wellbeing.
- Knowledge of the impacts of trauma and the ability to respond sensitively and appropriately to clients who have experienced violence, abuse or coercive control.
- Knowledge of issues relating to family violence.
- Knowledge of issues impacting on homelessness.
- Knowledge of risk assessments and safety planning in the context of domestic and family violence.
- Demonstrated high communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage exposure to challenging situations while maintaining professional wellbeing and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and also in a collaborative manner.
- Demonstrated high level of ability in the use of Microsoft Office and Information Technology.
- Qualifications in Human Services or Community Services (desirable)
- Experience working within the not-for-profit sector (desirable)
Requirements of the role:
- Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
- Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
- Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional License)
