Full job description

We are seeking a Communications Advisor to join our team for a temporary opportunity.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate internal and external communications activities for statewide projects in the branch and division, including providing project managers and stakeholders with ongoing strategic communications advice, and developing and implementing communication strategies.
- Provide communication advice and support to the PMD's Greater Leadership Team and subject matter experts in the areas of media and issues management, risk assessment, community engagement and communication strategies using appropriate communication tools.
- Develop, plan, and manage key communication activities and events such as displays, expos, award ceremonies, road shows, launches, media opportunities and other events as required.
- Manage the preparation of communications materials, including researching and writing ministerial briefings, correspondence, presentations, newsletters, flyers, media releases, and display materials, speech notes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide training, advice and support to branch staff and consultants to enhance communication skills, accessibility and branding requirements in line with whole of department processes.
- Develop and implement branch communication strategies, activities, procedures, and policies which assist PMD to achieve its strategic objectives.
