We are currently seeking a Primary Products Assurance and Inspection Officers to join our team in Homebush. You will report to our Operations Manager.

The role

Key responsibilities

Your role will be essential in maintaining and enhancing our food safety, compliance, and quality control systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting routine inspections of facilities to ensure they meet industry and regulatory standards.
  • Monitoring food quality, pest control, and identifying signs of disease or contamination.
  • Testing samples for residue, quality, and grading standards, using established laboratory procedures and equipment.
  • Implementing and auditing quality assurance programs and other compliance frameworks.
  • Liaising with agricultural technicians, production staff, and external auditors to maintain compliance with biosecurity and export regulations.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed records and reports of inspections, testing results, and corrective actions.
  • Supporting training initiatives for workers on hygiene, handling, and compliance procedures.
  • Recommending improvements to quality systems and suggesting preventive actions.

What You’ll Bring

To succeed in this role, you'll need a balance of technical knowledge, a keen eye for detail, and practical experience in the field:

  • A Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in agriculture, food technology, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in agricultural quality control, product inspection, or a similar assurance-based role
  • Familiarity with biosecurity protocols, food safety regulations, and sustainable farming practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use testing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for quality and compliance in the agricultural sector.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79,500.00 – $80,000.00 per year
