Joining Nestlé means you are joining the largest Food and Beverage Company in the world. At our very core, we are a human environment – passionate people driven by the purpose of enhancing the quality of life and contributing to a healthier future. Our philosophy is Good Food, Good Life, and we’re building a company that you’ll be proud to be part of.
Opportunity currently exists for a Quality Coordinator to join the Quality team based in our Campbellfield Factory. The Campbellfield factory produces confectionery brands such as Kit Kat, Milky Bar, Smarties, Aero, Soothers, QuickEze, Chokito and many more which delight consumers worldwide.
As Quality Coordinator, you will champion the practical application of the Quality Management System across a defined manufacturing area. Working as a trusted partner to the Manufacturing Leadership Team, you will support quality execution, lead investigations and improvement activities, and build awareness of the link between quality, food safety, operational efficiency and specification compliance.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will turn standards into practical action, coach teams, lead investigations and drive quality improvements. Other key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Champion Nestlé Quality and Food Safety standards, with a strong focus on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Coordinate timely batch release activities and support release coverage when required, including authorised release responsibilities for applicable TGA-licensed products.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives with Production and Maintenance teams, using quality tagging, identification and problem-solving methodologies.
- Identify food safety hazards and quality deviations, then work with manufacturing teams to reduce risk, non-conformances, complaints, waste and rework.
- Lead robust investigations into quality incidents, including product quality failures, foreign body complaints, food safety events and hygiene monitoring failures.
- Drive root-cause analysis and the implementation and closure of effective corrective and preventative actions from incidents and audits.
- Coach and train teams in GMP, quality methodologies and quality standards, and help close capability gaps through practical learning.
- Support quality compliance activities and contribute to the site internal audit program, including the close-out of audit non-conformances.
- Maintain quality skills matrices for key roles and design or deliver training that builds lasting capability.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a quality specialist role, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of food safety hazards, including microbial, physical, chemical and allergen risks.
- Practical experience with GMP, Quality Management Systems, complaint handling, audits, product release and root-cause problem solving.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and a genuine passion for quality and product safety.
- Basic SAP knowledge and familiarity with quality pillar tools will be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
- Passionate about working for Nestlé and sharing its purpose.
