About the role
Help shape the future of governance, accountability and continuous improvement at Legal Aid WA.
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and capable Policy and Governance Officer to join the newly established Integrity and Quality Assurance Unit.
Reporting to the Senior Integrity and Quality Assurance Officer, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team that drives governance, integrity, quality assurance and risk management initiatives across Legal Aid WA.
The Integrity and Quality Assurance Unit has been established to foster a culture of transparency, accountability and continuous improvement. As a Policy and Governance Officer, you will contribute to the development, implementation and review of governance frameworks, policies and procedures that support organisational integrity, enhance decision-making and strengthen accountability across the agency.
Working closely with colleagues across Legal Aid WA, you will provide advice and support on governance and policy matters, assist with risk management and compliance activities, contribute to reporting and assurance processes, and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role offers an excellent opportunity to influence organisational outcomes and contribute to the delivery of high-quality public services.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, review and implementation, including the ability to provide practical advice and support to stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating policy processes and contributing to governance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and influence outcomes.
- Experience designing and delivering policy framework, guidance, training or capability-building initiatives.
- The ability to consult and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and professional approach, with a commitment to accountability, integrity , social justice and governance.
