About Us

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Administration Officer to support the delivery of quality community-based health services. This role is responsible for providing professional reception and administrative support to a range of multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, allied health and other clinical services.

Working on a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays, you will contribute to the efficient operation of services provided within Community Health Centres, community venues and clients' homes. Depending on the location, the role may also provide administrative assistance to other co-located health services. Please note that successful applicants may be required to work across all Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District sites.

What you will bring to the role
  • Previous reception experience in a busy office environment with effective customer service including answering of all incoming telephone calls.
  • A high level of keyboard, PC, Database and general clerical skills, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft office packages
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and time manage
  • Ability to work with limited supervision when required, exercise basic judgement and problem solve within delegation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Current unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers’ licence within 3 months of appointment and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driver long distances across the LHD.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
