The Health Information and Records Service (HIRS) team plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, secure and timely access to patient information that supports clinical care, research and health outcomes.

What you'll be doing
As a Health Information and Records Service Officer, you'll be responsible for the accurate processing, digitisation and management of paper and electronic health records. Your work will ensure patient information is available when and where it is needed to support safe, effective clinical care.
You will:
- Perform document imaging activities including preparing, scanning, indexing, validating and quality checking clinical documentation for the electronic medical record (eMR).
- Manage hybrid and paper-based health records, including retrieval, tracking, filing, off-site storage requests and record destruction in accordance with legislation and NSW Health policies.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of patient records while meeting quality, productivity and service delivery benchmarks.
- Provide responsive customer service and work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to support health information services across the hospital.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by participating in training, service improvement initiatives and providing support across Health Information functions as required.

- Experience in an administrative position and/or knowledge and experience in health administrative functions.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise your workload so that you are able to meet deadlines

- Developed computer skills and/or experience with document imaging, patient administrations systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent customer service skills with sound oral and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles and how they are applied in the hospital setting.
