Full job description

Our Children's Services Team are passionate educators and leaders who create safe, engaging environments for young minds to learn, grow, and thrive. Across 40 NSW schools, our OSHC Educators and Coordinators deliver enriching before- and after-school care, packed with creativity, play, and learning.

Every day, our team runs programs that include sport, creative arts, cooking, and more—working closely with children, families, and schools to support development in a healthy, inclusive environment.

Ready to make a real difference in young lives? Join our dynamic team as a casual OSHC Educator and discover a role that's anything but ordinary!

What makes this opportunity special?

  • Inspire and influence young hearts and minds
  • Create valuable opportunities outside of the classroom
  • Unique casual role with flexible hours and working arrangements

We're seeking a passionate casual educator to support children at our OSHC service in Macquarie Fields. You must be available for a minimum of 3 weekdays per week and willing to travel to other locations in the area. For the right candidate, there's even an opportunity to transition into a permanent role!

Our Out-of-School-Hours Educators are the sharp minds and friendly faces inspiring and influencing the next generation of young people. Acting as both teacher and role-model to young students from over 50 NSW Schools, you'll provide engaging, exciting and interactive activities through our Before School, After School and Vacation Care services.

As a valued member of our OSHC family, you'll be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of developing young minds, while supporting our OSHC Coordinators to ensure our services stay the very best they can be. You'll work closely with the children (and their parents), sharing your wisdom, support and passions with them to help them grow.

This isn't your typical 9-5 role – and if you bring the dedication, focus and commitment, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a career in education, where you can build a schedule that works for you. If you're excited by the opportunity of a promising career creating meaningful opportunities for young people who need them, you'll almost certainly learn a thing or two yourself!

About your new role

  • You will provide fun and engaging activities for primary school-age children
  • You will help design a calendar of inclusive, exciting, and engaging program activities
  • Reporting to the Coordinators of our OSHC centres, you will be one of over 200 educators who support children across NSW
  • You will be able to follow our development pathways to learn new skills and build your career

About you

  • Y NSW staff love supporting their communities, and our educators innovate learning everyday
  • Y NSW OSHC Educators are motivated to develop children outside of the classroom
  • Everyone at the Y NSW ensures that we provide supportive service for families
  • Everyone at the Y NSW is committed to safeguarding and hosting safe learning environments

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supervising and interacting with children
  • Ability to follow safeguarding priorities
  • Availability to supervise Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care hours
  • Current First Aid HLTAID012 - Provide an emergency response in an education and care setting and CPR
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Police Check (paid for by the Y)

Y work with us?

  • Join a supportive local area network with group training and collaborative projects
  • Room to learn new skills and build career development by gaining access to the Y NSW professional training network
  • Awesome discounts on The Y services and products
  • Flexible hours and arrangements, for a work-life balance that works for you

Ready to embark on a rewarding journey where every day brings new adventures and the chance to shape young futures? Apply now and become part of something truly meaningful!
