Job Description

Located in Wollongong, Figtree Private Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated Food Services Assistant to join our professional catering team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to patients while strictly adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. Working closely with nursing and kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by providing exceptional, friendly customer service. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient care and recovery within a supportive, modern Ramsay Health Care facility.

This role will involve:

• Preparing high standard, nutritious cold larder sandwiches, salads and desserts for private hospital patients and doctors.
• Maintaining food hygiene, a clean working area and safety practices.
• Assisting the broader team as required.
• Stock management.
• Availability across a 7-day roster, including morning and afternoon shifts.

Your Skills and Experiences

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also be punctual, reliable and with a commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.

• Previous experience in a prep kitchen or hospital environment but not essential.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
• Compliance with HACCP, Food Safety and Workplace, Health and Safety
• Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable).
• Willingness to accept and promote Ramsay’s core values.

Additional Information
