Full job description

Be The Venue Manager Behind Sydney’s Busiest Waterfront Hotspot

The doors are open, the buzz is real, and Georges River Sailing Club is now one of Sydney’s most exciting waterfront venues. With a bustling restaurant, lively bar, and refreshed gaming lounge, this is a dynamic, high-volume operation that delivers premium hospitality every day.

Backed by Alt. Hospitality Group, we’ve transformed this iconic club into a modern dining and entertainment destination — and now we’re looking for a Venue Manager who can keep the energy high, the team inspired, and the guest experience unforgettable.

Your Role at a Glance

As Venue Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the operation — leading the team across the restaurant, bar, events, and gaming areas to deliver seamless service and an exceptional guest experience. You’ll balance the fast pace of a busy service with a focus on quality, consistency, and connection.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead from the front — set the tone for exceptional service, teamwork, and energy across all areas.

  • Oversee daily operations in the restaurant, bar, and gaming lounge, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-standard performance.

  • Coach, develop, and motivate your team — building a culture that thrives on growth, accountability, and fun.

  • Work hand-in-hand with the kitchen to deliver a unified guest experience that’s as seamless as it is memorable.

  • Drive promotions and activations that engage guests, boost revenue, and keep the venue buzzing.

  • Champion compliance and safety — ensure RSA, RCG, WHS, and operational standards are always on point.

  • Plan ahead — manage rosters, forecasts, and service flow to maintain peak efficiency during busy periods.

What You’ll Bring

2+ years’ leadership experience in a busy restaurant, bar, or multi-faceted hospitality venue
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and energise teams in a fast-paced environment
A hands-on, solutions-focused approach — you love being on the floor and driving service
Passion for hospitality — you genuinely thrive on creating great guest experiences
Solid understanding of RSA, WHS, and operational compliance (RCG experience is a bonus)
RSA & RCG certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)

Why You’ll Love It Here
  • A vibrant, high-energy venue with waterfront views and a loyal crowd

  • A supportive, growth-focused culture backed by Alt. Hospitality Group

  • On-site parking and daily staff meals — we’ve got you covered

  • Professional uniform provided — look sharp, feel confident

  • Career opportunities across a growing portfolio of venues

  • Every day is different — busy, social, and full of life

Ready to take the lead?

This is your chance to run one of Sydney’s most exciting hospitality venues — a thriving restaurant, buzzing bar, and refreshed gaming space right on the water.
