IT Support Technician — Job Description (Indeed format)

Position: IT Support Technician
Location: Full Time

About the role
We’re seeking an IT Support Technician to provide day-to-day technical support to staff. You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support users via tickets and helpdesk channels, and help maintain reliable IT systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide first-level IT support via phone, email, and helpdesk tickets
  • Troubleshoot issues across Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding: account access, device setup, software installs
  • Support peripherals (printers, scanners, conference room devices) and basic network connectivity
  • Perform routine checks, updates, and desktop/laptop maintenance
  • Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers/vendors and follow through to resolution
  • Maintain a clean, secure workplace standard for IT equipment and data

Required skills & experience

  • Experience in an IT support / helpdesk role (or equivalent)
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to prioritize tickets and meet service targets
  • Clear communication and reliable follow-through

Preferred

  • Experience with Active Directory / Azure AD
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft)
