SEE Trainer Assessors - Newcastle and Hunter Region

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is an Australian Government funded foundation skills initiative that delivers tailored, learner-centered training to support individuals in overcoming barriers to learning. As a SEE Trainer, you’ll play a vital role in helping participants improve their language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. By unlocking their potential, building confidence, and creating meaningful pathways to employment, further education, and personal growth you will transform their lives.

About the role....

This role will require you to:
  • Deliver face-to-face, and blended training that’s engaging, flexible, and learner centered.
  • Use your creativity to bring learning to life. Using real-world examples, active learning, and scaffolded support.
  • Conduct pre-training, and progressive assessments and tailor delivery to meet contract and learner needs.
  • Support learners with diverse backgrounds, including non-English speakers, mature-age students, and those re-engaging with education.
  • Foster confidence, communication, and workplace readiness alongside technical skills.
  • Leverage your previous skills and experience to bring industry specific themes to the program.
  • Engage with community and external stakeholders to build a strong network of support and opportunities for our learners.
About you....

  • To be successful in this exciting and rewarding role you will have the following:
  • TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher
  • Must have completed the following or equivalent or higher education qualification: TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set; or TAESS00026 Foundation Skills Integration Skill Set
  • A specialist adult Language Literacy and Numeracy qualification or TESOL qualification (preferred but not required)
  • Be able to motivate and upskill participants to improve their LLN skills to complete education and gain employment
  • Demonstrated expertise, or a passion for delivery and assessment of foundation skills, using the ACSF or equivalent
  • Digital literacy skills and the capacity to train others in this area.
  • Be a driven, supportive and community minded person, working with disadvantaged learners and non-English speakers to support them in building future opportunities for themselves through learning
  • Strong knowledge of the VET sector and the National Standards for RTOs
