We’re looking for a confident, organised, people-focused leader—someone who thrives on coaching others, shaping culture, and lifting performance. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and guide Driver Trainers to make safe, informed decisions and manage risk effectively.
- Champion safety systems, stop work when unsafe, and lead incident investigations.
- Set clear expectations, manage performance and development, and facilitate CEMP discussions.
- Build a high-performing, engaged team and recognise achievements.
- Foster strong relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Ensure compliance with Aurizon policies, standards and industrial instruments.
- Review driving methodologies, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to budgets, transformation projects, and local initiatives.
About You
You’re a confident and capable supervisor with a passion for safety and people. You enjoy being organised, staying ahead of the plan, and working closely with your team every day.
What you’ll bring to the team
- 1–3 years leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
- Demonstrated safety leadership with solid understanding of safety tools and processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and coaching skills.
- Ability to build relationships, set direction, and manage performance.
- Willingness to learn and apply knowledge of train handling, safe working systems and deployment practices.
- Confident using computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Train driving or rail yard operations experience (optional).
- C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
What we offer you:
At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees. With a national portfolio of operations, we offer long-term and exciting career opportunities.
