The purpose of this role is to provide scientific leadership and coordination of the statewide Genetic Testing Stewardship service, supporting the safe, effective and evidence-based use of genetic and genomic testing while improving patient outcomes and service delivery across Queensland Health.
What you'll do
In this role you will coordinate statewide genetic testing stewardship activities, provide expert scientific advice to clinicians and laboratories, review genetic test requests against clinical and laboratory standards, analyse service utilisation and performance data, contribute to the development of policies, procedures and governance frameworks, identify opportunities for service improvement, educate and support healthcare professionals, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement across Queensland's genomic pathology services.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Holds a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent discipline
Has extensive experience in genomics or genetic pathology
Can provide high-level scientific advice on genetic and genomic testing
Has strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Can lead service improvement initiatives and influence best practice
Has experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary healthcare environments
