About the Role
ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Thebarton, South Australia equipped with the latest technologies. We strive to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships.
We’re looking for hardworking and dedicated team member to assist with preparing and analysing water and soil samples, interpreting results and ensuring data accuracy through LIMS.
Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining microbiological analysis equipment, meeting strict turnaround times, and adhering to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and thrives both independently and in a collaborative environment.
This is a part-time permanent position. Hours will occur between Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM.
Responsibilities

Carry out allocated laboratory work strictly in line with documented methodologies and procedures.

Perform daily quality control checks and instrument calibrations to ensure data integrity.

Complete all analytical work within set timeframes, ensuring results are delivered in accordance with methods and customer expectations.

Immediately report any issues or uncertainties affecting test performance to the supervisor.

Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when items need replenishing.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment, ensuring waste is correctly disposed of.

Accurately complete all documentation with clear and concise handwriting.

Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures, including manual handling requirements.

Wear and correctly use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Report all incidents or near misses to your line manager without delay.

Degree or Technical Diploma in related science discipline.

Ability to follow instructions and established procedures with precision.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Basic IT literacy and good written and verbal communication skills.
