Auburn Public School is a large primary school established in 1886, located on a split site diagonally across a major intersection in Sydney's mid-western suburbs. The school caters for a diverse community, evident in the cultural backgrounds of students who attend the school. 98% of students are bi-lingual and speak English as a second language.

The school provides high-quality educational programs with a strong emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy, Student Wellbeing and Technology. Extra-curricular opportunities are provided in Music, Creative and Performing Arts, Technology and Sport. There are 5 classes to support students with additional needs.

1. Approval to teach Learning and Support and/or experience, skills, and knowledge to teach years K–6, with demonstrated experience working with students with additional learning and support needs.

2. Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, differentiation, assessment, and inclusive educational practices, including NCCD requirements to develop personalised learning and adjustments to support student learning outcomes.

3. Capacity to design, deliver, and evaluate specialised and targeted learning and support interventions for students with diverse learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs.

4. Highly developed communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the Learning and Support team to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, external stakeholders, and the wider community.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
