Full job description
The Acquisitions Librarian is responsible for the acquisition, cataloguing, processing, maintenance and distribution of resources for Chisholm Libraries. The role ensures the coordinated provision of resources that meet the learning, teaching, and research needs of the Chisholm community.
The role is also responsible for supporting dynamic and innovative Library Management and Enterprise systems to meet the needs of customers in a rapidly changing information environment. The role will use, understand, anticipate and respond to developments in online and printed resources to enable the confident delivery of library and learning programs throughout the institute which enrich the entire student experience and encourages participation, completion rates and positive academic outcomes.
The position is responsible for providing effective access to relevant, up-to-date library resources based on requests from teaching staff and students in consultation with relevant library staff. This position will collect & collate data for analysis to monitor the use of library resources and anticipate future resource requirements.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications required for the role
You will have a relevant qualification at a minimum of Diploma level or relevant industry experience
You are a highly motivated individual with
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills together with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, together with an understanding of and commitment to working in a client focused environment
- Demonstrated ability to undertake detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to organise and track purchasing activities or complex administrative information
- Experience producing reports and insights in relation to administrative operations
