What your day could look like
As a Peer Support Worker, you'll help people navigate their recovery journey with confidence, connection and hope. Working alongside consumers, families and multidisciplinary teams, you'll create meaningful opportunities for people to build on their strengths and achieve outcomes that matter to them.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Empowering people to identify strengths, set recovery goals and take positive steps forward
Sharing lived experience in a purposeful way that inspires hope, understanding and connection
Working collaboratively with clinical teams and community partners to enhance support options
Contributing ideas that strengthen service quality, recovery-focused practice and consumer outcomes
Let's Talk About You
You're someone who leads with compassion, courage and authenticity. You know the power of lived experience and can use your story thoughtfully to build trust, reduce stigma and create meaningful connections. You take pride in helping others discover their strengths, advocate for their needs and move towards a future they value. With integrity, dignity and a willingness to embrace new ideas, you're committed to creating positive change for individuals, families and the wider community.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, with the ability to share insights professionally
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse groups
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and community settings
Confidence using digital systems and supporting group recovery activities
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience delivering recovery-focused programs and/or experience working with community organisations supporting mental health outcomes.
Above all, you'll bring Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage to every interaction.
Your impact will be measured in stronger recovery journeys, meaningful connections and healthier communities.
