It’s hands-on, meaningful work and a great foot in the door with an iconic business; a place where you can belong, learn and grow your career.

As our Seasonal Mail & Parcel Sorter, you’ll be working at a facility where you’ll be responsible for sorting parcels in preparation for delivery, providing a vital service to our local community during our busiest time of the year.

Seasonal team members generally commence across October and November and depending on parcel volume, assisting us to deliver until around Christmas.

Eligible visa holders are encouraged to apply.

You’ll be paid

  • Seasonal Mail & Parcel Sorters (21 years or older) are paid $35.83 per hour, including casual loading, plus 12% superannuation
  • Junior rates apply to applicants under 21 years old
  • Some roles may also attract penalty rates for overtime, evening, and weekend work

What else is in it for you?

  • Work with a diverse, supportive team where you have opportunity to connect and collaborate every day
  • Be at the heart of the Australian and local community, helping to keep families and friends connected or businesses connected with their customers
  • Opportunities for training, growth and development in customer experience or other areas of the business
  • Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to other health and wellbeing resources

You’ll be

  • Operating load-shifting equipment such as hand pallet devices and stackers in coordination with operations staff to transport mail into the facility
  • Working with sophisticated processing equipment and lines
  • Manually loading and unloading mail from bags, trays, containers, and metal cages (Unit Loading Devices)
  • Sorting parcels and mail, both manually and with machine assistance, using scanners

About you

  • You're comfortable in a physically demanding role, able to lift up to 16kgs of mail and parcels regularly, with a good memory and attention to detail
  • You are safety-conscious with the ability to safely operate equipment like conveyors and loading/lifting devices, including pallet jacks, for loading and unloading parcels from trucks and vans
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment where compliance checks are part of the routine
  • You're willing to handle parcels that may contain meat and/or alcohol products

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us.
