Casual & Part Time positions

Cabrini Malvern hospital location (occasional Brighton and 154 Wattletree office Malvern)

Cabrini's Health Information Services team play a vital role in ensuring every detail of a patient’s health journey is captured, managed, and stored securely in their medical record. Our work ensures clinicians have the accurate, up-to-date information they need to make critical decisions, while safeguarding privacy and compliance every step of the way. This isn’t your average desk job - it's active, rewarding, and full of variety. You’ll be moving between departments, handling physical records, and working closely with different teams across the hospital.

What your day as a Health Information Services Administrator will look like:

  • Retrieving and delivering medical records to various departments for planned patient admissions and attendances complying with collection and delivery schedules

  • Processing and collating medical records for discharged patients

  • Creation of new medical records as well as maintenance and storage of records within prescribed timeframes

  • Accurately filing records in main department and secondary storage areas

  • Ensuring completion of documentation and updating of patient information where required using the patient database

Key requirements of the role

If you’re detail-driven and passionate about data integrity, this is where your skills can make a real difference. You will also need to have:

  • Certificate IV in Hospital Administration or Business Administration (desirable)

  • Previous experience working with medical records or familiarity with medical terminology is a bonus, but not essential

  • Team oriented approach - collaborative, dependable, and equally capable of working independently when required

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, with a positive attitude that builds rapport across teams

  • Solid organisational, numeracy and literacy skills to support administrative efficiency

We are offering both permanent part-time (min 2 days per week) and casual opportunities and are seeking candidates who are flexible to work a range of shifts throughout the week. Shift times are as follows:
Weekdays: 7:00am–3:06pm, 12:00pm–8:06pm, or 1:24pm–9:30pm
Weekends & public holidays: 7:00am–3:06pm or 8:24am–4:30pm

Training requirements

New staff must be available to commit to an initial 4-week training period across Monday - Friday upon commencement (minimum of 4 weekdays).
