Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Medical Billing Revenue Officer to join our Revenue Services team.

This newly established specialist role is central to ensuring eligible medical services are accurately captured, billed and reconciled, while supporting clinicians and the organisation to maximise revenue outcomes through compliant billing practices.

As the Specialist Medical Billing Revenue Officer, you will:
Coordinate and manage specialist medical billing activities across AWH.
Ensure eligible services are accurately identified, captured and billed within required timeframes.
Prepare, submit and reconcile Medicare, DVA and private health fund claims.
Investigate rejected or unpaid claims and implement corrective action to maximise revenue recovery.
Manage provider number applications, registrations and ongoing maintenance.
Support clinicians and medical staff with compliant billing practices.
Analyse billing trends and identify opportunities to improve revenue capture.
Produce revenue performance and billing activity reports for management.
Lead initiatives that improve billing efficiency, compliance and financial performance.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in specialist medical billing within a public or private healthcare environment.
Extensive knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), NHRA, DVA and private health fund billing requirements.
Experience processing and reconciling Medicare, DVA and private health fund claims.
Experience coordinating provider registrations and provider number management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex billing issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians and medical workforce teams.
High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
Advanced computer skills, including experience with patient administration and billing systems.
