Registered Nurse - Medical Imaging
- Permanent part-time opportunity | 32 hours per fortnight | 2 days a week
- Angliss Hospital | Upper Ferntree Gully
- Monday - Friday | No fixed days of work
Medical Imaging is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, kind, and dynamic nurse to join our team at Angliss Hospital for a permeant part-time position.
If you are looking to work Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm with no weekends and are keen to learn and expand your knowledge of Medical Imaging, then this could be the opportunity for you.
At Angliss Medical Imaging we have nurses working across 4 modalities. You are required to have excellent communication skills and be able to give and receive clinical handovers. A key role is to collaborate with different multidisciplinary team members (Radiologists, Radiographers and referring Medical Teams) to ensure patients receive and experience high-quality care.
In Medical Imaging Recovery you will be required to undertake a comprehensive assessment and care for the patient pre and post their imaging guided procedure. Tasks may include the management of the following: thoracic/abdominal drains.
In CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and Nuclear Medicine you will be assisting the Radiologist with procedures either from a scrub or circulating nurse perspective. You will gain many skills including monitoring the sedated patient, understanding the equipment required within the sterile environment and contrast administration. The procedures performed include insertion of central venous access devices, drainage of thoracic and abdominal collections, joint injections, spinal injections (epidural, facet joint, nerve root), and biopsies to name just a few.
You will be taught the importance of radiation safety and must be able to wear protective lead clothing during certain procedures.
You will also be taught the importance of Radiation Safety from a Nuclear Medicine perspective as your role as a Medical Imaging nurse includes assisting with Cardiac Stress Testing.
To be successful in this role you should possess:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Medical Imaging experience is desirable but not essential.
- Organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and within nursing and multi-disciplinary teams.
- A strong commitment to high-quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Critical thinking and reflective practice
- Investment in your career through continuous learning, mentoring, professional development, and opportunities to progress into specialist, leadership or advanced practice pathways.
- Work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, study and professional development leave, and leave purchasing options.
- Wellbeing support through fitness programs, confidential employee assistance services for you and your family, and 24/7 access to a range of support resources.
- Financial incentives to help you make the most of your earnings, including salary packaging through Maxxia, novated leasing options, and employee discounts on health insurance, banking and more.
- We are an equal opportunity employer and actively promote equality for people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and for people living with disability across the communities we serve and within our Eastern Health team.
- We provide a culturally safe and welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
- As a child-safe organisation, we ensure child safety and wellbeing is embedded in our everyday culture.
- We are shaping a culture that delivers exceptional care for our community, and an exceptional experience for all the people who make it possible.
