Ferring+You

You will play a pivotal role in the success of the Medical Affairs team and other functions as required. Through this role you will advance Ferring’s ambition to be a scientific leader. The MSL will develop strong relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs), creating an ongoing dialogue based on peer-to-peer scientific exchange and being a valued partner in improving patient outcomes. The MSL will be responsible for driving Medical Affairs initiatives in field and in the collection, documentation and sharing of insights that are relevant to Ferring’s therapeutic areas of interest.

Your day at Ferring

  • Maintains a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) list for designated territory as appropriate for the relevant therapeutic area. Maintains regular, scheduled interactions with KOLs, engaging in ongoing scientific exchange aligned to medical plan for designated therapeutic area and meeting activity KPIs as appropriate.

  • Provides high quality medical and scientific support to internal stakeholders (eg clinical and scientific training and upskilling for sales and marketing colleagues)

  • Support evidence generation activities. Acts as a local support for phase IV studies and IIT. Liaises with KOLS and relevant internal stakeholders as relevant to ensure IIT proposals are aligned with Ferring global requirements

  • Acts collaboratively with field based commercial team to ensure scientific and clinical needs of clinicians are met and that medical education activities are executed in alignment with medical strategy in the territory

  • Maintains high level of scientific and technical expertise in therapeutic areas. Proactively develops and increases knowledge of medical literature, and participates in all relevant upskilling opportunities through local, regional and global medical affairs events . Prepares and presents critical reviews of scientific publications and congresses, internally and externally

  • Utilises Ferring CRM system (OCE) to plan and record KOL interactions in a timely fashion in alignment with local affiliate reporting requirements.

  • Develops, updates and executes territory and individual KOL development plans, aligned to medical strategy

  • Acts as subject manner expert and provides cross-functional support for internal brand teams and Market Access activities.

  • Monitors competitor activities in field and provide insights as relevant to medical and commercial internal colleagues.

  • Identifies medical education needs and opportunities for medical initiatives in relevant therapeutic area, working in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and execute programs as relevant (eg local symposia, webinars, speaker tours etc)

  • Attends scientific congresses (domestic and international) as per Ferring medical plan, supporting medical and commercial activities such as symposia as relevant, and providing medical support for KOLs through attendance at Ferring booth/stand

  • Generate and communicate actionable medical insights

  • Oher medical affairs duties as required by the medical affairs management

  • Maintain compliance with MA Code, SOPs and PV requirements

  • Achieve agreed Medical Excellence and CRM quality metrics

  • Previous experience as an MSL in the Australian pharmaceutical industry

  • Tertiary scientific/clinical qualifications

  • Experience with compliance responsibilities
