Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised, positive and proactive Medical Receptionist with empathy to join our team in a part time capacity. This is a fast-paced position and requires a strong team member with excellent customer service and administration skills. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will need to play a key role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for patients arriving in clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, creating a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Maintain and manage patient records with confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Manage appointment bookings on Zedmed, cancellations, and rescheduling accurately and efficiently for our consultant and Western Vascular Diagnostics
  • Process billing and Medicare rebates.
  • Reconcile consulting day banking
  • Set up and ensure reception and consulting rooms remain presentable at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist (or similar role) required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency in medical software (preferably Zedmed)
  • Understanding of medical terminology (desirable)
  • Understanding of the Medicare system
  • A friendly, professional, and compassionate attitude

Working Hours:
This is a part-time, on-site position based in our consulting suites within the New Footscray Hospital complex working Monday to Friday on a rotating roster:

  • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
