Job Description – Sales Representative (Medical and Pharmaceutical Products) (ANZ)

Location: Sydney, Australia
Primary location – travel within Australia required

Employment Type: Permanent, full-time

Employing Entity: MSN Laboratories Australia Pty Ltd

Reporting Line: Country Manager, Australia

Salary Range: AUD 195,000 to AUD 230,000 plus superannuation

Role Purpose

The Sales Representative (Medical and Pharmaceutical Products) (ANZ) will represent MSN Laboratories Australia Pty Ltd in developing commercial opportunities for MSN’s pharmaceutical portfolio in Australia and New Zealand, with a primary focus on the Australian market.

The role is responsible for identifying prospective customers, distributors, hospital groups and commercial partners; promoting MSN’s pharmaceutical products and services; negotiating pricing and supply arrangements; supporting product launches; and maintaining strong relationships with business, professional and institutional customers.

The role will also act as a key commercial liaison between Australian market operations and MSN’s India headquarters, ensuring local customer and market requirements are communicated to internal regulatory, supply chain, finance and legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pharmaceutical Sales and Market Development

  • Represent MSN Laboratories Australia Pty Ltd in the sale and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Develop and execute market entry and growth activities for MSN’s pharmaceutical portfolio, with a primary focus on Australia.
  • Identify, approach and engage prospective customers, distributors, hospital groups, institutional buyers and commercial partners.
  • Assess customer needs and explain MSN’s pharmaceutical products, supply capabilities, pricing and service offering.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of commercial opportunities and support the conversion of opportunities into sales and supply arrangements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing dynamics relevant to MSN’s product portfolio.

2. Partner and Distributor Management

  • Identify and establish relationships with suitable Australian distributors, commercial partners and institutional customers.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with partners and distributors to support market penetration and product uptake.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with partners and distributors.
  • Follow up with customers and partners to ensure satisfaction with products and services supplied.
  • Resolve commercial, service or supply issues in consultation with internal teams.

3. Commercial Negotiation and Sales Administration

  • Negotiate pricing, supply terms, distribution arrangements and commercial agreements with customers and partners.
  • Prepare customer proposals, quotations, pricing recommendations and commercial submissions.
  • Support contract finalisation and ensure commercial terms are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare sales reports, revenue forecasts and market updates for senior management.
  • Track sales performance against forecasts and assist with corrective actions where required.

4. Tender and Institutional Sales Support

  • Identify and support hospital, institutional and tender opportunities in Australia.
  • Provide pricing inputs and commercial information for tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with internal regulatory, supply chain, finance and legal teams to support tender participation.
  • Review commercial risks and contract terms before finalisation, where required.
  • Ensure sales and tender activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies and applicable compliance requirements.

5. Product Launch and Marketing Support

  • Support local product launch activities for MSN’s pharmaceutical products in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Assist with product positioning and portfolio prioritisation based on market feedback and competitor analysis.
  • Support promotional initiatives with partners and distributors in line with MSN’s commercial strategy.
  • Provide market intelligence to assist with future product pipeline and market entry planning.

6. Liaison with India Headquarters

  • Act as the commercial link between Australian customers/partners and MSN’s India headquarters.
  • Coordinate with India-based regulatory, supply chain, finance and legal teams to support product registration, supply, launch and customer requirements.
  • Communicate market feedback, customer requirements and commercial developments to the Business Head – ANZCHKJ.
  • Support cross-functional alignment between Australian commercial requirements and India-based operational teams.

Key Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales, technical sales, business development, commercial strategy or related pharmaceutical roles.
  • Strong experience in pharmaceutical business development, partner management and distributor engagement.
  • Experience in Australian or New Zealand healthcare/pharmaceutical markets preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customers, develop commercial opportunities and negotiate pricing and supply arrangements.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, product registration, market entry and commercialisation processes.
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, pricing analysis and commercial reporting.
  • Ability to manage external partners and business customers in a professional and commercially effective manner.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with regulatory, supply chain, finance, legal and technical teams across jurisdictions.
  • Willingness to travel within Australia as required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • MBA, Master of Management Studies, or another postgraduate qualification in business, marketing or a related discipline preferred.

Pay: $195,000.00 – $230,000.00 per year
