Position: Grade 1 Medical Scientist
Position type: Full-time (including overnight shifts)
Location: Waurn Ponds (Geelong)

Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

A qualified Medical Scientist is required to join our laboratory in Waurn Ponds at the Epworth Hospital. This laboratory performs testing within the disciplines of Haematology, Immunohaematology and Chemical Pathology, servicing the needs of the hospital 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Position requirements:
  • Significant experience (more than five years) in a diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience specifically Haematology and Blood Banking is essential
  • The ability to work part of a busy team and unsupervised when required
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to OH&S
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and scientific instrumentation/equipment.

This is a full-time position (38hours) working rotating shifts Monday to Sunday, including overnight shifts. Part-time applicants will also be considered.
