About the Role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and customer focused Emergency Services Clerk to join our Emergency Services team. This permanent part-time opportunity offers a varied and rewarding role supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Your New Team

The Emergency Services team provides expert acute care across a broad range of specialties including critical care, major trauma, mental health, toxicology and emergency ambulatory care. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide a professional, welcoming and customer-focused service to patients, families and visitors.
  • Accurately collect, enter and maintain patient information for clinical and billing purposes.
  • Support the smooth operation of the Emergency Department through timely administrative assistance.
  • Liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the hospital.

About You

  • Previous administrative or clerical experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy and changing environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an Emergency Department or acute healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of hospital patient administration systems.
