About the role
The Renal Laboratory Technician delivers a broad range of diagnostic and technical services, including urine spun microscopy, bench assays, blood pressure monitoring studies, and patient and family education — all underpinned by a commitment to accurate and timely communication of results to medical personnel.
Key duties of the role
Provision of high standard clinical laboratory services and encourage and foster a positive culture and safe work environment
Contribute to training in renal laboratory methods for undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and science students
Participation in quality management and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services
Participate in meetings relating to research projects in which the Renal Laboratory is involved.
Skills and Experience
A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
Experience in a medical technical laboratory, including quality assurance processes
Ability to perform phase contrast microscopy and other renal laboratory diagnostic procedures
Strong problem-solving, organisational skills, and ability to work independently and within a team
