Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Role Summary:

A Medical Laboratory Technician performs laboratory tests on patient samples, such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids, to help diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases. They work under the supervision of medical laboratory technologists or pathologists.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, label, and prepare patient samples for testing.

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests using microscopes, analyzers, and other lab equipment.

Record, analyze, and report test results accurately.

Maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness.

Follow safety protocols, including handling biohazardous materials and proper disposal.

Assist in quality control and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and support patient care.

Skills and Qualifications:

Associate degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.

Certification or licensure (varies by country or state).

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of laboratory procedures.

Ability to work accurately under time pressure.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: $7,000.00 – $7,200.00 per month
