About the role
These accredited positions offer excellent opportunities for Advanced Trainees to experience a wide range of experiences in Geriatric Medicine in community, psychogeriatric, inpatient (acute, sub-acute and orthogeriatric) and outpatient settings (diverse specialty clinics available). Eastern Health is accredited for 24 months of core training in geriatric medicine with the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Supervision and education by our consultant geriatric physicians and skilled nursing and allied health teams, will contribute to a beneficial learning experience for those employed. Skills in clinical medicine and research, as well as mentorship and opportunities in non-clinical, professional development will be promoted.
Rotations may include the following sites: Peter James Centre, Box Hill Hospital, Angliss Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Wantirna Health, Healesville Hospital and work in the community with the GEM@Home and InReach Program.
All appointments will be made through a PMCV centralised match as well as application to Eastern Health.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
