Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Medical Transcriptionist based in Australia. The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports and creating patient records, ensuring adherence to formatting and privacy standards. The role involves reviewing and editing transcription drafts for accuracy, verifying subject details, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify information when needed. The position also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and transcription best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Medical Transcription, including typing and dictation skills
  • Strong understanding of Medical Terminology and documentation standards
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure records are error-free
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is an advantage
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clinicians and staff effectively
  • Relevant certification or training in medical transcription is desirable
  • Australian based residents only
  • Must have own ABN
