Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
Start Date: Immediate

Hays is seeking a highly skilled Risk Principal to join the PC&A team of a tier 1 mining company, supporting a Port Program. You will provide first-line risk support, ensuring robust risk management processes across the program. This role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to assure sound risk practices within an EPCM delivery model.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure EPCM delivery partner meets the client's risk management requirements per contract scope.
  • Guide the program in identifying and recording material and non-material risks in line with the client's standards.
  • Manage and facilitate Program risk review cadence/routines.
  • Develop, review, and complete risk-related documentation deliverables.
  • Produce internal risk reporting requirements.
  • Support Regional Critical Control Owners during Control Effectiveness Testing (CET) for material risk management.
  • Drive improvement initiatives to enhance risk management capability within the Risk Function and Program.
  • Maintain strong engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in Field Leadership activities.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management within projects/programs.
  • Knowledge of professional risk standards (e.g., ISO 31000).
  • Competency in risk-based systems and tools.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and uphold safety leadership principles.
  • Relevant qualification.
  • Based in Perth, Western Australia.
