The Opportunity

As the Team Leader – Applications, you will play a key role within the Monash Research Office, leading the delivery of high-quality research administration services to the Monash research community. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Applications, you will lead a specialist team of up to 12 staff, providing expert advice on funding opportunities, eligibility, compliance and complex matters.

You will work closely with researchers, funding bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure services are delivered within critical timeframes and quality standards, while leading continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will bring substantial research management experience and proven leadership capability, with a demonstrated ability to provide expert advice and deliver outcomes in a complex environment.

You will have highly developed organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet demanding deadlines, quickly understand complex information and develop practical solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and develop a highly capable and customer-focused team
• Provide expert and strategic advice on research funding applications and compliance
• Manage complex matters and provide advice and reports to senior management
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead continuous improvement, strategic projects, policies and processes.
