Full job description

Being in our warehouses means keeping active, working with a crew that’s got your back, and knowing the work you do really matters. It’s essential work with plenty of variety which means no two days are ever quite the same. We take safety seriously and look out for your wellbeing because you should be going home the same way you came to work.

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Freight Handler to join our diverse and hard-working team at StarTrack in Wingfield. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast.

This is a casual opportunity working shifts from 4.30pm to 8.30pm any time as required across Monday to Friday as such flex to work any days Monday to Friday is essential. These roles pay $40.83 p/h + 17.5% uplift for the PM shift and 12% super. Pay increases coming at the beginning of September in line with the EBA.

You’ll be

  • Using your strong work ethic to help us keep delivering great service.
  • Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road.
  • Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse.
  • Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation.

About you

  • You’re fit and can lift at least 30kg repeatedly – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you’re safe on the job.
  • You’re laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive
  • You’re a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected.
  • If you’ve got a forklift licence that’s a plus, since this comes handy moving freight around the warehouse.

What else is in it for you?

  • Work with a diverse, supportive team where you have opportunity to connect over both work and team social events
  • Working hours that gives you flexibility to make space for what’s important to you either before or after work
  • Your safety and wellbeing is prioritised above everything else, so you go home the same way you came to work
  • Opportunities for training, growth and development with pathways in facilities or other areas of the business
  • Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to other health and wellbeing resources

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us.
