Position: Associate Network Engineer

Datacom Location: Perth/WA and Adelaide only.

Security Requirements: AU Citizens preferred, Residents ok.

About the Role (Your Why)
You will be joining our growing Networks Managed Services team, working with a dedicated team to deliver excellence through building true partnership with our important federal customers. The purpose of this role is to provide Datacom and the customer with network solutions, solution implementation and timely updates all whilst maintaining a balanced approached to customer service and team collaboration. As an Associate Network Engineer, you will work across several client accounts in an agile secure environment to provide security and network solutions that meet or exceed the ISM requirements as well as relevant ISO standards.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Perth. This role will be working on an on-call roster with evening and after hours work as agreed with the customer. The role requires you to be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia.


What You’ll Do

As an Associate Network Engineer, you will be a member of a highly skilled network engineering team, working on but not limited to:

  • Provide 24 * 7 Networking technical support to the Network Management Centre clients. You will work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week
  • Primarily responsible for monitoring network availability and performance, focusing on outage detection, analysis, resolution and reporting
  • Provide assistance as required on customer projects such as circuit changes, site moves and rolling out IOS upgrades using automated tools.
  • Conduct Testing, implementation, monitoring and tuning networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.


What You Will Bring

  • 2+ years working in a professional services environment.
  • Developing knowledge of Networking and Firewalling covering Datacentres, Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) + knowledge of Firewalling and wireless would be added advantage.
  • Understand the concepts of networking and the security associated with networking.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service focus with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Achieved or working towards tertiary qualifications in Computer Science.
  • 2+ years networking experience.
