Employment Status: Permanent, full-time No. of Vacancies: 1 Closing Date: 20 Sep 2026 AEST

Lead with purpose. Shape progress for a growing city.

Help shape the technology that keeps Blacktown City's libraries connected. As a Library IT Officer, you support the systems, devices and digital services that staff and customers use every day across our library network. From public computers and self-service technology to software, peripherals and Wi-Fi, you help ensure technology is available, reliable and easy to use.

You provide hands-on technical support, install and test hardware and software, troubleshoot issues, maintain documentation, and work with vendors and Council's Digital Services team to resolve problems. You also deliver technology training, support system upgrades and contribute ideas that improve library services and the customer experience.

Your work directly supports people accessing information, learning new skills, using digital services and staying connected with their community. By keeping library technology running smoothly, you help create welcoming and accessible spaces where residents can learn, create and participate in community life.

Join one of NSW's most progressive councils and enjoy stable employment, career development opportunities and exposure to a broad range of technologies and projects. This role suits a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys solving problems, working with people and finding practical solutions that make a difference for staff and the community.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $1,566.66 per week
  • a 35-hour working week
  • access to Council's flextime arrangement
  • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
  • ongoing training and development support
  • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
