About the Team

Our State-of-the-art 36-bed PICU admits approximately 1800 patients annually to 22 funded beds. We provide approximately 25 extracorporeal life support (ECLS) runs, advice and telehealth support for approximately 1800 paediatric patients across Queensland and northern NSW, and our team retrieves approximately 800 critically unwell paediatric patients annually. We admit patients from all medical and surgical specialties, including renal and liver transplants, and are Queensland's paediatric burns centre.

About the Role

In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

Provide high quality, evidence-based and reliable specialist clinical care to critically unwell infants, children and young people within PICU and QCH.
Provide expert advice and high-level support via conference call and Telehealth to referring clinicians throughout Queensland and Northern NSW and coordinate any retrieval team responses.
Engage in clinical responsibilities as a leader of a high-performing interdisciplinary and professional team, utilising effective communication, liaison and consultative practice within the service, with other departments of CHQ, and outside of CHQ.
Build and maintain collaborative partnerships, within PICU and externally, to ensure team success and to maintain the highest standard of patient care.
