The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) is seeking to employ an enthusiastic consultant to provide expert services in Radiation Oncology.
$197,583 - $243,822 + 12% super & salary packaging (pro-rata) | Permanent Part-time: 0.6 FTE | Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre | REQ680863 | Grade: Staff Specialist | Applications close: Wednesday, 19 August 2026

This new permanent position is an opportunity for a talented and committed Radiation Oncologist to work within the established framework of a networked and integrated cancer service. The Radiation Oncologist will have the opportunity to influence the future of Radiation Oncology services across ISLHD. Whilst it might incorporate district wide responsibilities, the position is based at the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre, Nowra. A centre networked with other District facilities, providing essential cancer services for the growing South Coast population.
In this role you will provide high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Radiation Oncology for all key tumours streams, and participate actively in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. As a Staff Specialist you will ensure a high standard of professional performance and, where required, the encouragement of an academic environment which supports research and development. Interest and experience in treatment of Head and Neck/ Skin sites is desirable.

Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre provides cancer services for a growing population in the South Coast of NSW The centre offers chemotherapy, targeted therapy and radiotherapy with two linear accelerators and a superficial radiotherapy machine. Attached to the new redeveloped Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital, offering services that focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to our community.
