Temporary full-time and part-time positions
Duration of the training program: 12 months from 1/2/27 up to 30/1/28
Term of the Contract: 3 Years in line with clause 52 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement
At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3 year contract.

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate House Officer (HOU) to join our Ophthalmology team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to both outpatient and inpatient patients under the supervision of experienced consultants. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
As part of the Ophthalmology department, you will also play a key role in maintaining high standards of clinical practice, supporting and guiding junior medical staff, and contributing to the education and training within the team. You'll have the chance to participate in departmental teaching, develop professionally, and contribute to patient care, making a significant impact on both the department and your medical career.
About You
You are a dedicated and compassionate medical professional committed to providing high-quality care and fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
MBBS or equivalent, registerable with AHPRA
Strong clinical practice, professional integrity, and effective communication skills
Experience in supervising and teaching junior medical staff
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and patient rights and responsibilities
