• Salary: HM11-16 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

About the role:

Western Health are seeking applications from experienced medical practitioners for Hospital Medical Officer positions as part of our November intake for 2026.

Opportunities are available for appointments of up to 15 months, depending on the successful candidate’s preferences. A broad range of rotations will be available between November 2026 and February 2027.

For those continuing into the 2027 clinical year, you will be aligned with our General Practice/Community Stream and will have the opportunity to preference your rotations.

Western Health offers a supported training environment where Senior Medical Staff make an effort to know you personally. Junior doctors are also supported by dedicated Directors of Clinical Training and Medical Education Officers.

Key responsibilities:

• Work under the supervision and support of the registrar or consultant to further develop general clinical and decision-making skills.
• Assume responsibility for patient care in accordance with the care model of the ward/unit, ensuring that clinical procedures are performed in accordance with Western Health policy and procedure.
• Ensure quality patient care via clinical assessment, admissions and development of management plans.
• Participate in on-going assessment of competencies via a mid and end of term unit assessment.

About you:

• ;Hold or be eligible for medical registration with AHPRA.
• Have completed a minimum of 2 years full time medical employment post Primary Medical Degree (MBBS); and
• Have worked full-time in a hospital based medical role for at least 3 months in the past 6 months.
