Full job description

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Officer to provide a safe and secure environment at a retail store in Darwin. This role involves maintaining a visible security presence, preventing theft, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting store staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a professional security presence throughout the store.
  • Deter and respond to theft, shoplifting, and other security incidents.
  • Monitor customer and staff activity while identifying suspicious behaviour.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor and surrounding areas.
  • Prepare clear and accurate incident reports.
  • Liaise with store management and, where required, police or emergency services.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring a safe shopping environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and customer enquiries.

Requirements:

  • Current NT Security Officer Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (preferred).
  • Excellent observation and communication skills.
  • Professional presentation and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $35.53 – $78.16 per hour
