- Build your skills
We’re recruiting 1,500 people to join our team this harvest season and play a key role in receiving and storing grain from South Australian and western Victorian farmers.
Whether you're looking to boost your uni break, working holiday, bank account, skills or future, a harvest job with Bunge offers a unique opportunity to earn, learn and explore regional Australia.
These roles are ideal for:
- students looking to make the most of their break
- travellers wanting to fund their Australian adventure
- people looking to gain valuable work experience
- career starters wanting to build practical skills
- anyone seeking well-paid seasonal work in a supportive team environment.
Our sites are based in regional locations across South Australia and western Victoria, giving you the opportunity to explore beautiful coastal towns, experience regional communities and make the most of your time outside of work.
Most roles run from October to January, with opportunities for some to stay on longer. Earn great money and enjoy your free time travelling, meeting new people and experiencing some of Australia's most unique regions.
Why work a harvest with Bunge?
Make great money, meet new people and build new skills while working in a safe and supportive environment.
A role with us offers:
- comprehensive, role-based training to help you get started
- a supportive, safe and supervised team environment
- personal protective equipment (PPE), including high-visibility shirts, gloves, safety glasses, and hard hat
- pay in line with the applicable Enterprise Agreement/award rates.
Depending on your role and location, you may also have the opportunity to:
- travel with the harvest and work across different sites in southern Australia and western Victoria
- be considered for ongoing or return employment after the harvest season
- access limited accommodation at selected locations
- work towards eligibility for a second-year Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)
There's a harvest role for everyone
Many of our harvest employees are students, backpackers, career starters, retirees or people looking for a change. Full training is provided and there are a variety of roles available across our network:
- General grain handling – supporting the movement and storage of grain
- Bunker operations – working outdoors to assist with large-scale grain storage
- Machinery operations – operating equipment such as Front End Loaders (FEL) and forklifts
- Grid operations – managing vehicle movements and directing trucks safely on site
- Grain classification – testing and assessing grain quality (training provided)
- Weighbridge operations – weighing trucks and recording grain deliveries
Watch our roles explained in more detail.
Our harvest sites are located across South Australia and western Victoria, including:
- Eyre Peninsula
- Central SA region (mid and lower northern areas and Yorke Peninsula)
- Adelaide ports (Port Adelaide)
- Eastern SA and western Vic region, including Dooen (Murray Mallee and south east area)
About us
Bunge connects farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed and fuel to the world.
Through our dynamic supply chain, we can move commodities efficiently from where there is surplus to where they are needed. In Australia, we operate around 60 storage and handling sites and seven port terminals across southern Western Australia, South Australia and western Victoria, two import sites in Victoria and New South Wales, and are one of the largest buyers and exporters of agricultural commodities including cereals, oilseeds, pulses and cotton.
By joining Bunge, you will enjoy a varied and interesting career and make a difference to local farmers and the communities we operate in.
In mid-2025, Bunge and Viterra combined, creating the premier agribusiness solutions company.
Application timeline
Most harvest roles commence from October, so if you are successful, you may not be contacted to start until closer to this time, depending on site requirements and seasonal conditions.
