Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team in Melbourne. As a valued team member, you will bring creativity, professionalism, and expertise to our kitchen while delivering high-quality culinary experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to a consistently high standard.

- Develop seasonal menus and contribute to new recipe creation and menu innovation.

- Plan and supervise food preparation and cooking activities in the kitchen.

- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.

- Lead, train, and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

- Manage stock levels, food ordering, inventory control, and supplier coordination.

- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations.

- Assist in estimating food and labour costs and minimising kitchen wastage.

- Maintain efficient kitchen operations during high-volume service periods.

- Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance requirements where

necessary.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment. (Minimum one year)
  • Formal culinary qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.
