Delaware North Australia is hiring Casual Pastry Chefs to join our culinary team at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In this role, you’ll contribute to premium dining experiences and high-profile event-day service in a fast-paced premium pastry kitchen. What will you do?

  • Prepare and present high-quality pastries and desserts in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Support service across premium dining areas and event catering, maintaining consistency under pressure
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and WHS practices, including working in line with HACCP principles
  • Assist with prep, stock rotation, and keeping your section organised and service-ready
  • Work a rotating roster that may include weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
  • Contribute to a team culture built on clear communication, calm service, and high standards

More about you

  • Pastry experience in a professional kitchen (events, hotels, catering, or high-volume service is ideal)
  • A trade qualification in Patisserie (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, consistent presentation
  • Confidence working to tight timeframes, with a steady approach during peak service
  • A team-first mindset and willingness to jump in where needed
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts around a rotating event roster
