About the Team

The Patient Support Services team is comprised of seven essential units that work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the healthcare environment. These units include Cleaning, which maintains hygiene and infection control standards; Linen, responsible for the supply and management of hospital textiles; Waste, which handles the safe and efficient disposal of various waste streams; and Porterage, which supports the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility. The Help Desk serves as a central communication hub, coordinating service requests and support tasks.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

Cleaning duties (including infectious environments) may include, but are not limited to, cleaning high and low areas such as walls, floors, bathrooms, windows, ceilings, furniture, and fittings, as well as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, buffing, and scrubbing. Utilise IT platform software and devices, such as iClean, to track extra tasks and monitor cleaning status.
Undertake general and periodic cleaning of all clinical and non-clinical areas within QCH and surrounding facilities, ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with CHQ procedures and standards, Infection Control Guidelines and the Strategic Operational Services Unit (SOSU).
